Our Director:

Kasia Balsam is a traffic engineer, transport planner and Director of Metafora.

She has extensive experience delivering transport planning and traffic engineering projects across Australia, from planning proposals, development applications and state significant developments through to operational planning and active transport initiatives.

Curious by nature, Kasia enjoys understanding how people move through places and why they make the travel choices they do. She has a particular interest in finding a healthy balance between vehicle use and alternative transport modes, and in identifying ways to make walking, cycling and public transport more attractive.

A key part of Kasia’s approach is questioning assumptions to uncover practical opportunities for improvement. Her work combines data-focused analysis with clear and realistic visualisation of proposed changes. Working collaboratively with clients, communities and authorities, she develops practical and effective solutions that respond to the needs of all stakeholders and contribute to better places.
